I ASK: Sexual Assault Awareness Month Virtual Conference

Halton Women’s Place is pleased to host the “I ASK” Virtual Conference in honour of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Guest Speakers Roslyn Deisinger and Tim Mousseau will share their personal stories, discuss how we can be an active bystander, appropriately respond to disclosures, and will draw on their experiences to discuss rape culture. Q&A to follow.

NOTE: Our Virtual Conference will be supported by two ROCK counsellors. If requested, you will be able to speak to a counsellor privately in a breakout room during the conference.

Roslyn Deisinger

Roslyn Deisinger is a gender based sexual violence prevention educator, currently with the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres as their Draw the Line Campaign Coordinator. Acknowledging this crime is a social ill which impacts us all, she is passionate about supporting individuals to feel both accountable to and prepared for building healthy communities. Roslyn has a particular interest in supporting professionals who work with youth, given the importance of fostering prosocial values in the next generation to address this prevalent form of harm.

Tim Mousseau

Tim Mousseau is an award-winning, international speaker and researcher that specializes in helping students and professionals combat issues of sexual violence. Combining original research with powerful stories grounded in personal experiences, Tim uses passion and vulnerability to guide conversations that will leave students inspired to combat sexual violence, redefine masculinity, and provoke change.
