Our Impact

Halton Women's Place Wins CN Not-for-Profit Award

We are honoured to receive the CN Not-for-Profit Award at the 29th Annual Oakville Awards for Business Excellence. This recognition celebrates our unwavering commitment to supporting women and children in the Halton region, helping them live free from violence. With your support, we continue to provide critical services, including 24-hour crisis lines, emergency shelters, and outreach programs, making a profound impact on our community.

We thank our friends Paul and Flo Henderson Bellman for their participation in this special recognition and for continuing to share their story to create better awareness and advocacy about preventing and ending violence against women.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

“Thank you for supporting the Life Matters event in Georgetown. It was a phenomenal day and you were an integral part of the success that was enjoyed. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation for your contribution in making our community a safer place to live, work and play, and for inspiring and engaging our youth.”

-Constable Maureen Andrew, Halton Regional Police Service

EDUCATIONAL IMPACT

That was a phenomenal presentation, and my class really had an excellent experience. Your examples were excellent, were easily relatable and the kids were super engaged. I can confidently say that they learnt a lot today!

-Anthony Alchesi, High School Teacher

EDUCATIONAL IMPACT

Thank you for delivering an incredible message during the consent vs coercion talk with my grade 9 classes this semester. As I am evaluating their final tasks in health, so many of them mentioned this guest speaker experience as one of their top learnings for the semester. Lots of them have included the FRIES acronym, and it’s clear that they listened and processed the message you were trying to get through.

-Jen Reid, High School Teacher

EDUCATIONAL IMPACT

The presentation material and messages and activities were informed, current, and age-appropriate to the audiences (grades 6-8 students).

-Georgetown Elementary Teachers

EDUCATIONAL IMPACT

Thank you so much for your hard work! Engaging the students in these relevant topics is important to their social-emotional growth and development.
